PR isn't the dark side

was having a conversation with this lady from our main publishing house.

'And why would your cousin steer you away from PR? She’s in media? But honestly, it’s not selling your self to be in PR. Like I said, it’s a challenge maintaining client expectations as well as making sure that their image is not tarnished through media and other mediums. And there are lots of job satisfaction moments as well. But importantly, PR serves the function of making sure that corporates do not just throw themselves into uncharted waters. We are more ship navigators than captains.'

i like that last line. i rather be advisor than king.

Vatican collecton

go check out the Vatican treasures at the NHB! looks really major cool.

Explore the magnificent collection from the Vatican to discover the importance of Rome as a place of pilgrimage - a journey of faith that was and is still performed by many around the world. This is only the second time the Vatican has sent such a major exhibition to Asia.

graceful start and end to nokia connection 2005

and so June 13 came and went. everything worked out the way it should, or at the very least the way it was improvised to be. to all the media friends who came, sorry that i couldn't spend as much time with you guys as i would have liked to. you know me. i prefer small intimate little gatherings vs. all these big muncho major stuff but if wishes were wings...yada yada yada.

those who want more information can go to this URL - http://nokiaconnection2005.com - and attempt to find out more. not sure how long the site will remain up for. if not, just check out the event write-ups at your normal friendly websites.

but yes, it went well. life is getting slightly better. and i want my bonus in july! *grin*

on a different note, did my usual running route which ends along jalan ismail. was walking back home past the bus-stop when i saw this really cute kitten. not the human variant. anyways, that area is its home kinda cos i have seen it around quite abit. so i decided to go home, grab some milked soaked bread and feed the kitten. when i got back, someone had done her normal round of feeding the neighbourhood cats with left-over rice. but i decided to still give the kitten the bread.

enter this big cat. apparently it felt that food should be shared only after it was full. at first, i stood in a position where the cat couldn't reach the kitten but after a while, i realised that this was their natural way of life and preventing one cat from eating meant another would starve.

how to reconcile? so i let the big cat chase the little kitten away from the food. no excuses. it's a way of life.

Mr & Mrs Smith and a Room Full of Blues

mr & mrs smith was like hilarious. honestly.

it covers like what...probably three weeks max of their lives - more like from when they discover that they are each secret agents. just on opposite sides and of cos, there is the grand conspiracy to take them both out cos of their legal marriage to each other. in a nutshell.

but of cos there is the unspoken of chemistry between the two leads as well as the sheer amount of face time you get seeing either a) brad pitt or b) angeline jolie. something for everyone. what more can you ask for? actually, wait there is. they could have censored the sex scene less. and oh yeah, played up the last gun fight scene much more. started feeling like a jacky chan movie. 1000 enemy bullets vs. 100 friendly bullets. all enemies dead and not even a cut to the heroes. you get what i mean.

and a Room Full of Blues(RFOB) was like totally happening last saturday night. minus the fact that me and bros were there. but the live band led by Gilbert was rockin! he did like a U2 cover, a Maroon5 cover and there was Southern Suns and a hell lot more. got to hear them once and after that EIC and Unexpected can just melt away. They are on par with John Molina and his crew from China Bar, which by the way opens on Sunday nights now - so for those where live bands are more their thang already, check out these places!

overwhelming-ly positive about live bands.

school holidays are heeerreee!

hey! i did report for work. was at venue for the intel event by 8. trust me, it wasn't easy. and i stoned out nearly the whole morning. but that's ok...pool won! almost anything can be justified by having them win the european championship.now hope they get to defend the title. *crosses fingers*

school hols are here! the roads in the mornings have never been better to drive. here are the three top reasons why school should not begin so early in the bloody day:

- no more insane AND late parent rushing to get their precious brat to school and in the process putting the kid through ten degrees of death anymore AND me through 5 degrees of it.

- the radio dj can actually say on air 'there are no road conditions to report of today. wait, that sounds funny....is it just me or is there some kind of dissonance...'

- no more jams in front of traffic lights near schools, no sudden right turns by parents (read:idiots) who try to beat the U-turn queue by illegally turning at the traffic light (amen to that) and importantly, no near accidents with brats other than their own as parents (read:fools) try to rush their kids to school for assembly.
