what a wonderful weekend it has turned out to be
happy anniversary baby! *griN* glad that we have crossed this line the way we did. and to crossing many more lines too!
other things that have been happening over the weekend
- bought a pair of oakleys on saturday, post the pictures up pretty soon.
- came in 5th place on my XBox FIFA Premier League table, on the 2nd attempt at the game.
- heard some potentially good news at work on friday. more updates soon!
- found and sampled and tasted good food at this kebab place@changi village, with pretty affordable prices too. those who want info, leave me a note.
- bought two albino angelfish! very cute and responsive too. in baby's fishtank now.
- might be able to shave off a month on my savings resolution this year. ain't that cool?
more happy news? Chinese New Year is just around the conrner. that's like more holidays! then march will pop by and we get a long weekend. of cos, we really shouldn't focus on the LONG drought that will happen until national day, after that. how did that song go? ' always look on the bright side of life, *whistles*, always look on the bright side of life, too-doo...doo..dooo..dooo do ti toooo ti toooo...'
*whistles*
position of introspection
i find it extremely satisfying about how events have unfolded back at the place i was a couple of months back. feels really good to be in a position where i can safely see that my ideas, given more definition, would have worked...in real time, down time. of cos, there isn't any point to go 'i told you so' or even to gloat over the obvious rightness of my past suggestions. but still, i am happy for those who still remain there. hope that the place gets better day by day.
my dog is ignoring me. damn it! or at least he seems to be, just slightly more grouchy this morning. grrrr...
media event launch later this afternooon.wish me luck!
sometimes i wonder
the weeks seems to be slightly faster this year around. like i was telling some people earlier this month, it seems 2004 never truly ended and we are into an extended year with 24 months and lotsa stuff already filling on the plate.
sometimes i wonder -
why does the east bound train, in the evening, take two south bound trains always packed full? if they want full capacity, squeezing poor tired souls like sardines isn't going to earn them loyalty points.
why does it take an effort for others to just watch out and take care of each other? granted, it's a full time job but isn't the satisfaction of having something go right for once, worth it?
why does it take so much conscious thought just to be nice? have we gone past the sunset and seen all that there is to see, such that we know whether or not someone will learn by us being mean.
why does it take only an email from someone to brighten up a day, elicit a laugh, provoke amusement? and yet, it takes so little thought to just say no. are we being fair to ourselves?
sometimes i wonder too much, i think. too much thought leads to one doing a mental double flip and doesn't make the mind lighter.
*sombre*
life is good
i like holidays that fall on fridays or mondays. i like sleeping in til 1pm. i like having the world pass me by on days like these. *contented grin*
what about you?
happy birthday hui min! many good moments this year k! *smile*
i am sure you gals are so gonna love this!
you would think i would have learned by now
so i fixed the norton problem last week and guess what...my wireless network refuses to recongise anything at all. i spent two nights going thru microsoft online troubleshooters. i get pissed off that i cannot fix it. i go to work thinking about it.
and...tonight it works. gotta thank my dear for being so patient with me as i rumbled and grumbled through the whole process. and without knowing what we really did, it seems to be working fine again.
the ability of technology to irritate is a scary precedent for the future.
Merging of Daily Gripe with Angelfire website
okays. following an afternoon of re-writing, editing, re-linking and uploading, i have managed to make this blogspot page the replacement for my daily gripes page back in angelfire. i have re-mapped the angelfire website to be the inner monologue found at
http://www.angelfire.com/realm2/ethereal_reverie/inner_monologue.htm
and musings page found at
http://www.angelfire.com/realm2/ethereal_reverie/ethereal_reverie.htm.
for your convenience, it is also located at the links to your right. ain't that nice?
okay. it is a sunday. i am going to enjoy the rest of the day.
moving to blogspot.com
dear all, please bear with me as i shift the blogging activities of this site into blogspot.com. i will be retaining this site for other related activities that hopefully will somehow complement the blogspot entries.
decided to do so after i realised that 1) i can blog from work 2) i can still dreamweaver the blogspot 3) i feel like having a change.
kung fu hustle was good. raku at holland village has LOUSY service...and rather normal food to boot. i repeat, raku is crapshit. taking trains from buena vista back east is an experience from my university days that i do NOT wish to remember.
this is starting to get ridiculous.
13 January.11.45pm.
i repaired the damn C:/ and it still isn't letting me install norton systemworks 2005. i don't know why. i am too mentally drained to even think of why not.
i just want to sleep. i have been trying really early mornings for the last couple of weeks and i am sleepy. but running in the mornings really refreshes compared to the evening runs. but don't really dare run too far, cos gotta get ready for work.
then work passes by rather quickly. which i cannot tell whether it is cos of the added adrenaline from the run or that time is relative. i suspect a little of both. and then the evening approaches again and tomorrow beckons.
wait...i see that the NSW installation seems to be over. *crosses fingers*
thank you god! NSW is up. wait. now my wireless net is down. *sigh* it is 12.04 am. i want to sleep.
Another day of Norton
13 January. 10.42pm.
so i spent like the last three nights trying to fix my norton problems. first this error msg saying that there is an internal error, have to reinstall my AV. then it says that the registration code cannot be activated for some reason or another. some how or another i managed to fix the desktop.
then i turned on my laptop. and the whole bloody damn process began again. and i am still on it. incredible right? i wonder whether norton engineered this by themselves.
anyone has anything good to add about priceline.com? thinking of taking a trip to melbourne in march. got confirmed dates and return times. and importantly, not too much money. malaysia airlines seems to be the cheapest at $549 w/o taxes i think.
