street fusion rocks! hollaback crew of 2006 - first ever!

what a day - spent the whole of friday evening rehearsing for the actual show-day of the Hollaback Crew Finals organised by mediacorp 987FM. this was held today at the indoor stadium.

my god. the atmosphere was intense and riveting, there were at least 4000 supporters inside one half of the stadium but they made it sound like we were watching the malaysian cup at the nat'l stadium. if i ever doubted that SCGS girls could scream...never again man, i swear when they opened their mouths together, you could feel the decibel level rise tangibly.

street fuzion were the absolute favouites and sweeped best MTV group award, best videographer and of course, first time ever Hollaback group of 2006!! now just cos i know two guys in the group doesn't make me biased. for the crowd today, for the people that came to be entertained, street fuzion provided all of the key elements that justified their hard-earned victory. they danced hard, they rapped hard, they percussion-ed hard. they rocked!

street fuzion you rocked!

there was of course performances by the 987 jocks as well as by mediacorp artistes don & drew, local band ronin and the highlight of the evening, the reason why all the teenage girls dragged their asses down to the famously ulu-fied part of the east - the indoor stadium, they came for the click five. that's when the roof nearly collapsed due to the sound barrier being tested throughly and nearly broken.

to me, it was aptly put by one of the parents of the contestants i was talking to the night before. 'click five is who i also dunno...but my daughter knows and when she found out she was in the finals, she screamed so loud, my neighbours came to investigate. i nearly kena go mata station for questioning.'

and now for abit of extra gloss, there was this team in the above 17 category that shall be unnamed. they have five letters with a number if i remember correctly. they prove to me my eternal gripe about graduates; that graduates feel having a paper earns them an automatic life by society. this group in particular was pissing all my colleagues off with their requests, like whether they can leave floor markings on the dance arena for their use in the finals the next day so they remember where to stand but they happen to forget the other 9 teams before them. so if they can do so can the other 9 teams, then the dance arena will look like rainbow agar agar with diferent colour markings all over the platform. they decide to iron in the common corridor because their allocated space to gather at group formation is too precious. so they use the common grounds...and turn off the fan facing their opponent group because they need to plug in their iron. if i compile a list of gripes, i will still be here tomorrow sia.

will post up the pictures once i download them off my digicam. what a great day - and i didn't have to think about work at all. that is such a pleasant relief, i would have walked across hot coals for the chill-out my brain had today.
