Kingdom of Heaven
alright. so i went to watch a movie with the ELF in it. and i realised that i have been suckered before i.e. watching movies which the ELF acted in, even before he was the ELF. you know...like Black Hawk Down...anyways, i digress. Kingdom of Heaven is a good show. really enjoyed it, from the battle scenes to the thought processes behind those scenes, to the little bits of irony that the director left throughout the show e.g. towards the end of the show, salahuddin picking up the cross and placing it back on the table. of cos, if that was real, he would be hung by his own fanatical zealots.
sounds pretty much like today still eh?
this paragraph from http://www.reelingreviews.com kinda sums up very succinctly what Kingdom says - ...have found a time in history when a religious hot spot was ruled by men who understood that religious fanaticism was good for no man, a lesson that should reverberate today not only in the exact same location, but globally as well. Moral teachings permeate the film, from the inscription carved in Balian's smithy declaring that a man's goal should be to leave the world a better place, to the merits of humane treatment of one's enemy...
and just a bit to think about - the Knight's Oath - “Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Speak the truth, always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong."
now if only today's society can learn that, maybe tomorrow's world won't be the cess pit it is becoming.

FIFA soccer withdrawal symptom #3
FIFA soccer withdrawal symptom #3 - your hand, not your leg gets sprained.and no, my xbox hasn't gone rotten. i just need to find the damn time to play it! =)
saw a fight at thumper saturday night. so fun. and all cos of a staff member (read: not your ikan bilis), supposedly had a friend there who supposedly struck another lady, and that the lady who had been supposedly struck, wanted to get into a fight with that friend of the staff member who might have been there and the staff member who was there, but who may not have done anything.
anyways, in a nutshell, there was a fight. and in my own reservedly humble opinion, meaning that this is my thoughts and words, it was her fault. (oops, did i go 'she'?)
this whole issue with what you write on your blog being open to public thus therefore allowing interested parties to sue the writer for defamation is PURE CRAPSHIT. technology has created this space the Internet where regulation is fully unable to work since rules exist in only one part of the physical world. and now parties (read: corporates) have decided that since they cannot handle bad comments and criticism have gone ahead to find out how to censure and demand that netizens follow them.
democracy. freedom of speech. freedom of thought. what crapshit. some communist somewhere is probably laughing out loud, or in his/her grave. we have reached their ideological realm, even if it is based in democracy.
