KL biz trip

Update on the apt search
just a quick update on the apt search. we have found a place that we like! and we have already made an offer for the place. now all that’s left is to hope that all goes well and the seller decides to agree to our offer. *grin* everybody contribute mental support k!

there is a complication though. yups, since when can my life ever be mundane? *rolls eyes* we made an offer but the seller’s agent is trying to get us to raise our offer while she is giving a different price to other potential buyers. i know cos’ i know of one other person who has seen the place. after we made the offer, she called the other person and asked him whether he would like to match or raise the offer. cannot wait until the owner accepts the offer and then i can tell that double dealing asshole that i know what she was doing. Service satisfaction quotient at all time low.

Update on career
nothing much to add here. boss made a good offer and i accepted. enough said.

Biz trip in KL – Day One
been sent up to KL for a biz trip; to help the M’sian office since we share some of the same clients. so i am staying at the Boulevard Hotel at Mid Valley City. initially i had this impression that the hotel would be this really business-like, functional, practical place and not for leisure-type stays but it surprised me. check out the picture of the room and bathroom. really glad that I am staying here, the bathroom gave me inspiration for what I would want to do for my apt bathroom as well.

so the hotel is next to the Mid-Valley City Mall where there are like 300+ shops (including those small kiosks). there are the usual brands like Zara, Topshop, G2000 etc as well as some local brands like Padini, Batik etc. but overall, this place feels and looks better than the Bintang Plaze area (closer to the Ritz). And i discovered that for men’s clothing here, Zara is cheaper here than Singapore! *grin*

and they also have Carrefour downstairs where the funny thing is that there is a lady at the entrance that will cable tie any loose plastic bag before you can enter. must be a major problem with shop-lifters if they need to zip up my MPH bag of books.

had dinner at Chilli’s; this western bar cum restaurant where literally half the area is a bar and the other is a restaurant. the lamb steak is good…*grin* love my meats.

KL – Day Two
woke up early today to try out the gym. it is very cool! check out the pictures.

after that had breakfast at the hotel restaurant Wild Rice. see pictures of the food! i had jellyfish & herbal soup! *smile* what a combination eh?

had lunch at this food court located near the office.

after work my colleague D had to do a site recce at this place called Maison; so decided to follow him. before that we headed to Sungei Wang and Lau Yat to get some movies and software and dinner at this outdoor hawker area that i last visited in 2004.

KL Fashion Week was taking place at Sungei Wang; check out the pictures below.

after makan, we headed to Maison and took a brief look around the place. not too bad a venue; the location seemed further away than was comfortable for me. but that is most probably due to me being Singaporean and finding long drives a chore.

so now on to day three and one more day back to Singapore and OMG JW’s wedding!!
