do i need a perforated pay slip just to qualify...?

so i was applying for a citibank credit card earlier in the month at orchard and just this evening at parkway parade. figured that i ought to get one since entertainment is part of my jobscope and i can use the card to get 1-1 deals, good makan discounts etc...

twice i got rejected - without any reason being given. twice the credit sales person serving me asked me 'are your payslips perforated?'. being in an agency, where we have less than 20 people, of course the answer is no! why would we want to spend more money to per-for-rate the payslip such that 20 people can tear into their payslips at the end of every month? i really do not think that we get any pleasure from 'tearing' into our payslips. looking into it - definitely got pleasure lar.

so i get the impression that because my company is cost-efficient, that this is the reason why i have been rejected twice by citibank in my application for their card. even though i qualify by income. even though i have submitted all the relevant documents. gawd - if it wasn't because their partnership scheme is attractive, i doubt that i would be giving them a second glance, much less glance at credit.

to put it simply, i am insulted.

maybe i should just open a priority account with them and dump my cash into an account to get the card. but then again, why should i let them benefit by charging me for me for a service when i am not even sure of their capability to keep me satisfied as a customer?

perhaps makign a fuss at their branch outlets, questioning the staff and threatening to publicize their poor customer service will help...

but perhaps.. maybe not..
